Playtime Childcare Society located at 1223 Smithers Road, Parksville, British Columbia, V9P 2C1 is seeking one qualified Early Childhood Educator Assistant for infancy to 5 years.  We’re seeking a full-time and permanent individual who has a passion for the early year’s education and development of young children. A successful Early Childhood Educator Assistant candidate will have a background in the early childhood field and be able to incorporate fun and engaging activities for the children in our programs. We are a growing organization with opportunities for growth and advancement into management roles.

Responsibilities:

Assist and support childhood educators with activities such as games, songs, free play and language development for physical, emotional, cognitive and social development.

Assist in engaging activities such as arts and crafts and field trips for children.

Assist in planning the daily activities and resting times by arranging the room and setting up the activities.

Assist with self-help skills such as eating, dressing and toilet habits.

Observe the children discuss progress or concerns with the childhood educators and provide observations in writing.

Attendance of staff meetings required.

Assisting in planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health security and well-being of the children.

General housekeeping and maintenance of daycare equipment, stationary, and toys.

Wage

$ 21.25 per hour

8 hours a day / 40 per week

Monday to Friday

Accommodation assistance that is not more 30% of the gross wages

Relocation assistance will be provided

Assist with medical coverage, until provincial coverage is approved

• BC ECEA Certificate or is currently enrolled to qualify as a BC ECEA
