Job Duties:

·        Operate and drive a tractor-trailer equipped with a low-boy gooseneck float to transport heavy machinery and construction equipment to and from job sites.

·        Safely load and unload paving equipment, milling equipment, and other heavy machinery, ensuring proper securement and compliance with safety regulations.

·        Drive a tri-axle dump truck with a tag-along float to transport materials and equipment across various project locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

·        Operate vehicles with an 18-speed manual transmission, demonstrating advanced skill in handling and maneuvering heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

·        Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles, floats, and equipment, ensuring all systems, such as brakes and hydraulics, are in proper working condition.

·        Properly secure cargo using tarps, straps, chains, or other securing mechanisms

·        Follow designated truck routes and maintain a strong knowledge of GTA roadways to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

·        Adhere to all transportation safety regulations, company policies, and procedures while maintaining accurate records of cargo, routes, and equipment maintenance.

·        Coordinate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of equipment and materials to job sites.

·        Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting of vehicles and equipment when required including minor emergency roadside repairs.

Wage: $29.00 per hour

Skills Requirements:

• Must have a valid AZ driver’s license.
• Must know how to operate Citizens band (CB) radio
• Must have Air Brakes Endorsement
• Inspection report (pre-trip, en route, post-trip)
• Must have experience with recording entries in the Driver logbook
• Must have experience with preparing maintenance and repair reports
• Must have experience operating heavy equipment.
• Must be able to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Must have experience in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
• Must have experience driving a tri-axle dump truck.
• Must have experience operating a gooseneck lowboy float trailer.
• Must have a good knowledge of GTA roads and truck routes.
• Completion of a one- to two-year apprenticeship program or some high school, college, or industry courses in heavy equipment operation combined with on-the-job training is required.

Hours of Work:

• Hours of duty will vary, starting as early as 4:00 AM and ending when the job is completed for the day.
• Days of work are Monday to Saturday.
• Typical workweek ranges between 40 to 60 hours, depending on project requirements.
